Skincare routine: best keep it simple
The best skincare routine is the simplest. Let’s not get carried away; I’m not talking about soap and water. Other than make-up, what products should you be using on your face?
There are so many skincare products on the market, it’s difficult to find the ones that work for you and even more difficult to stick with them. Chances are you’ll most likely overspend before you get the reality check (usually in the form of a bank or credit card statement) that forces you to whittle down your skincare products to the bare minimum – and I mean bare. You don’t need to spoon on tons of product to get that fresh-faced look.
“Too much of anything is never a good thing”
Charcoal face washes are excellent, and you don’t have to buy the expensive kind either. One facial wash for day or night is enough.
Facial wipes are a must have. I use Micellar wipes for cleansing and to remove my make-up.
You can use one moisturiser, and or, serum during the day and one at night. If you suffer from acne or oily skin, I suggest you don’t moisture before you go to bed.
Buy an all-in-one eye cream for de-puffing, removing dark circles, and lines.
Don’t forget to drink two litres of water a day, take your make-up before you go to bed. Also, change your pillowcase three times a week, or turn it over. This is because your pillowcase can harbour a lot of bacteria.
And to complete your skincare routine, do a weekly face mask or steam.
